Product Description
 
MIDI FORTEFOG P FUMER is a professional-use insecticidal smoke generator designed to rapidly disperse a fine insecticidal smoke throughout enclosed spaces. The smoke penetrates inaccessible areas, voids and harbourages where crawling and flying insects may be present, making it suitable as a space treatment where conventional spray or dust applications may not achieve adequate coverage.
Each smoke generator is capable of treating an enclosed volume of up to 400 m³, provided the area is suitably sealed prior to application.
 
Active Ingredient
Permethrin – 13.25% w/w
Permethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide which acts on the insect nervous system by disrupting sodium channel function, resulting in paralysis and death.

The product should be used as part of an integrated pest management (IPM) programme and is not intended as a substitute for good hygiene, proofing or targeted residual treatments.
Safe Application
 
Prior to activation:
Calculate the treatment volume to ensure the correct number of fumers is used.
Ensure all occupants, pets and non-essential personnel have vacated the treatment area.
Extinguish naked flames and isolate potential ignition sources where practicable.
Close all doors, windows and ventilation openings to contain the smoke.
Remove or adequately protect exposed food, food preparation equipment and sensitive electronic equipment where required.
 
Following activation:
Ignite the smoke generator in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Exit the treatment area immediately.
Do not remain within the area while smoke is being generated.
Display warning signage and prevent access during treatment.
 
On completion of the exposure period, ventilate the premises thoroughly before re-entry and occupation.
Personal Protective Equipment
 
The minimum PPE for handling and deployment should include:
Chemical-resistant nitrile gloves.
Protective coveralls.
Safety footwear.
 
Where there is a foreseeable risk of exposure to smoke, particularly during early re-entry or emergency access before adequate ventilation, operators should additionally wear:
Suitable respiratory protective equipment fitted with an appropriate particulate filter.
Safety glasses or goggles.
Respiratory protection should be used whenever entry into a smoke-filled area is unavoidable.

Separate from food, animal feed and combustible materials.
Emergency Procedures
 
Following treatment:
Ventilate the treated area thoroughly before re-entry.
In the event of accidental inhalation, move the affected person to fresh air.
Wash exposed skin immediately following contamination.
Seek medical advice where symptoms persist or following significant exposure.
